A Bit Late- But First Post of 2018!

Well- Happy New Year, Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Birthday (if you had one) and of course, Happy End of Term 1! The last three months have been a bit of a blur with new students beginning, old students returning, choosing repertoire, preparing for auditions... AAGH SO MUCH TO DO! Crazy to think that it's the end of Term 1 and so much has happened, and of course it's going to get crazier.
So what have we been doing? Where have I been for the past three months you say? Well here is what has been happening:
1. I welcomed seven new students to my wonderful studio! Welcome to Viana, Emmy, Emma, Maya, Aurora, Claudia & Nicole. As we all know beginning something new is always really difficult, and these students have all taken to it like a duck takes to water. Cannot wait to see where these students go in the next twelve months.
2. Congratulations to Quinn on her first ever lead in her school musical. Whilst the majority of tickets are sold out I've managed to pick up one and get to see her strut her stuff! Well Done Quinn.
3. Congratulations also must go to Davin on his first audition for 2018. For those who don't know, auditions can be some of the most daunting experiences- a panel of highly qualified people staring at you, judging you to see whether you are good fit for their show. The fact that kids get up to even audition in the first place is an amazing achievement, and the improvement from Davin has been astonishing. Again, congrats Davin on all your hard work.
So that's what we've been up to this term, but next term we have:
- AMEB Exam sessions (5th - 20th May)
- Ipswich Talent on Show (17 - 19th May)
- Ipswich Eisteddfod (21st - 28th May)
- AMEB Theory Exam sessions (May & June)
Whilst that not look like much, a lot of preparation and rehearsal goes into being the best performers we can be. And with that said, cannot wait to see what Term 2 will bring!
